frogs

hey uhh if you couldnt tell im a big frog enjoyer. this whole page is really just a tribute to that side of myself

okay so anyways heres a whole bunch of frogs and facts about those frogs

okay so this little dumbass is a tomato frog. tomato frogs come in two varieties: red and yellow. now the one in the picture happens to be yellow. usually male tomato frogs are on the yellow side of the color wheel, while the females are more of a redder, sometimes orange hue

tomato frogs are probably one of my favoritest froggers. the one pictured is of the species dyscophus antongilii, also known as "the true tomato frog" there are also two other species of the tomato frog but those are not as saturated as the antongilii.

regardless of species all three live natively in madagascar. tomato frogs, unlike many other species of frogs, are listed as of least concern. they are also sometimes kept as a pet

these frogs are also just so unique-looking. their coloring(like most unique coloring in nature) is there to warn predators of their toxicity. when needed, their skin secretes a white substance acting as glue which can also cause an allergic reaction in humans

this ones called the devil frog. or, if you want to be precise, the beelzebufo ampinga, or beelzebufo for short

these big dudes lived in the late cretaceous period. thats the same time(within ~560 000 years) that the ceratops lived. a god dam dinosaur lived at the same time(within ~560 000 years) as this big ass frog.

i say big ass frog, as the thing grows to AT LEAST about ~23cm in length, which is about the size of an african bullfrog.

now this big living frog is an african bullfrog. they live in, you guessed it, africa. specifically southern africa, around botswana, south africa, and even as north as kenya

african bullfrogs are among the biggest of frogs. they grow to about 25cm in length and eat things like centipedes, small rodents, and occasionally even the tadpoles of their own kind

fun fact: when exposed to dry conditions, they become dormant and can form a kind of "cocoon" around them consisting of their dead skin cells

african bullfrogs are also a pretty popular pet(for a frog).

ok thats it for now. i want to still add a few entries, for the goliath frog, the rain frog, and the pac-man frog
